4. Cupcakes and cakes
Even though muffins are delicious, let's face it, eating them for breakfast means we're essentially eating cake for breakfast, and surely that's just on our birthdays. It's still pretty much a cake, even if it's labeled "healthy," like a fruit-filled blueberry muffin.
While a blueberry muffin doesn't contain much fruit, it is at least healthier than a plain muffin or, worse yet, a chocolate chip muffin. If you are going to choose a muffin for breakfast, choose a fruit one. And even then, save it for an occasional gift! Blueberries are a great source of antioxidants and vitamins that keep the immune system strong.
Cheese bagels, which are high in saturated fat, can also be a healthier option, but be careful with salty bagels. We've seen muffins made with zucchini and minimal sugar, which may not check the sugar craving box, but they certainly won't set you back in your day.
If we don't want a sugar overload for breakfast, we should definitely leave those baskets of delicious breakfast pastries at hotels.
