17. Puente De Ojuela, México
Originally constructed in 1898 for access to the productive Ojuela Goldmine, Puente De Ojuela in Mexico has transformed into an incredibly popular tourist destination. This impressive 318-meter suspension bridge spans a dramatically deep gorge in Durango and received expert design by the famous Roebling brothers, who also created the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
Completely restored for maximum safety, the bridge offers absolutely dramatic views of the stark desert landscape and fascinating abandoned mining sites. The nearby atmospheric ghost town adds tremendously to the mysterious atmosphere, making it an absolute favorite for history enthusiasts and adventurous explorers.
