This is an extremely active breed. Whether guarding loved ones or searching for tree roots, these dogs are smart and energetic. With training, they are gentle giants weighing up to 66 pounds. Without socialization, a Lapponian Shepherd may struggle to adjust to home life. They need the right person to settle them. They might obey their owner’s commands—or those of an intruder.
