Rottweilers were originally bred to pull carts and guard homes. This intense breed was among the first livestock herders. Many consider Rottweilers smart and active, needing ample attention and exercise. Without these, they can become aggressive. Aggression can quickly turn into biting, attacking, or scratching. The Association of Professional Dog Trainers estimates a Rottweiler’s bite force at 328 psi—about 2.5 times stronger than the average human.
