To respond effectively to emergencies, fire departments need versatile equipment for many different situations. The Colorado Springs Fire Department has impressive tools to help those in distress. They have 22 fire engines for urban fires, a specialized HazMat unit, three mobile medical teams, and a heavy HazMat unit for the most complex hazardous material incidents. They also have 11 wildland fire trucks for natural fires, a decontamination vehicle for hazardous materials, an air supply truck for firefighters, and a transport vehicle to move personnel quickly during emergencies.
